COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Orthodontics and Aligner Center is welcoming a new orthodontist to the practice as Dr. Baron Whateley has announced his retirement.
Dr. Brian Potocki of Hillsdale Orthodontics will be transitioning to acquire the Coldwater practice. The location will become one of three practices he serves.
Dr. Potocki grew up in Perry, Michigan and attended the University of Michigan for his undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences. He then continued his education at Michigan and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
After receiving his degrees, he served as an officer of the United States Air Force and completed an advanced education in general dentistry residency at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton, Ohio before serving three years as a general dentist at Cannon Air Force Base in Clovis, New Mexico.
After his service with the United States Air Force, Dr. Potocki went on to receive his Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters of Science in Dentistry from Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.
Doctors Whateley and Potocki will be working closely to transition each patient’s care in early 2023.
Doctor Whateley says, “I am excited to have Dr. Potocki as my successor. We share the same passion for serving our community and his dedication to his patients is unmatched.”
Dr. Whateley has been practicing orthodontics for over 40 years. During his career, he has taught Diagnosis and Treatment Planning and Craniofacial Orthodontics to orthodontic residents, has achieved both board certification and membership into the Midwest Angle Society of Orthodontists, and has restored functional smiles for children born with a range of craniofacial disorders.
Upon retirement, Dr. Whateley will continue teaching Diagnosis & Treatment Planning at the University of Detroit.
