BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson Vikings had a hot shooting night as they defeated the Homer Trojans 78-60 in a Big 8 Conference game on the Vikings home court.
Bronson hit ten shots from beyond the arc including eight in the first half.
The Vikings never trailed after Dominic Kiomento made a three point bucket at the end of the first quarter which gave Bronson a 24-23 lead.
The Vikings then established control in the second quarter as they outscored the Trojans 29-13 to take a 53-36 lead at halftime.
Four Vikings finished in double figures. Bronson’s Aden Hathaway scored a game-high 26 points. Boston Bucklin and Kam Brackett each had 12 points. Brackett dished out 11 assists. Saylor Wotta scored 10 points.
Bronson is now 4-6 overall and 2-3 in the Big 8.

The Quincy Orioles jumped out to a 23-8 lead after the first quarter and never looked back as they defeated the Springport Spartans 68-41 in the “Coolest Gym in Michigan”.
Grant Carter led a balanced Quincy attack with 15 points. Riley Miner added 13 points while Ashtyn Morris had 10 points. The Orioles are now 7-3 overall and 3-2 in the Big 8.

The Union City Chargers suffered a heartbreaking 46-40 overtime loss at home to Reading.
Union City had the final possession of regulation but could not get the winning bucket. The Rangers outscored the Chargers 11-5 in overtime.
Landon Galvin and Rick Austin both scored nine points for Union City. Union City drops to 1-4 in the Big Eight and 5-6 overall.

In underclassmen boys basketball, The Coldwater boys split their games with Jackson Lumen Christi.
Coldwater won the J.V. game 50-47. Bennett McDonald had 12 points and nine rebounds. Julian Thompson added 11 points while Jackson Reilly scored 10 points.
The Coldwater freshman boys basketball team fell to Lumen Christi 67-30. Sebastian Ocampo led Coldwater with 11 points.
