BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – It was a rough night for Branch County’s boys basketball teams in the Big 8 Conference as Bronson, Union City and Quincy all lost on the road.
The Vikings lost at Reading 54-46. Kam Brackett led Bronson with 14 points. The Vikings are now 4-7 overall and 2-4 in the Big 8. Bronson won the J.V. game 40-36.
Union City was beaten by Homer 67-46. The Trojans established control early thanks to a 22-8 first quarter. Rick Austin led the Chargers with nine points. Union City is now 2-5 in the Big 8 and 5-7 overall. Homer also won the J.V. game 49-38.
Quincy gave Big 8 Conference leader Concord a tough game before they lost to the Yellow Jackets 44-37.
Quincy led 30-28 entering the final quarter but Concord remained unbeaten in conference play as they outscored the Orioles 16-7 over the final eight minutes. Ashtyn Morris led the Orioles with 15 points and 12 rebounds. Grant Carter added 12 points
Quincy won the J.V. game 56-26.
