COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater underclassmen basketball teams won three out of four games against Hastings on Thursday night.
Coldwater’s JV boys team defeated Hastings 54-52 in overtime. Julian Thompson led a balanced Coldwater attack with nine points while Austin Downs, Bennett McDonald and Drew Ennis had eight points. Jackson Reilly and Thompson both had six rebounds. Bennett McDonald had seven steals and Downs had six assists.
The Coldwater freshman boys defeated Hastings 45-34. Owen Tappenden led Coldwater with 15 points, 14 rebounds and 3 steals.
The Coldwater Girls JV team defeated Hastings 29-24. Leading the way for the Cards was Ta’viayah Hughes who had 16 points while Norah VanWagner and Abby Robison added four points each.
The Freshmen Lady Cards lost a tough game to visiting Hastings 28-26 in overtime. Coldwater was led by Mallory McConnell with eight points and Madison Stumpf with seven points.
