OLIVET, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater Cardinals earned a split of their varsity basketball games Tuesday night at Olivet.
The Eagle boys outscored the Cardinals in the third quarter 22-5, turning a 20-18 halftime deficit into a 52-39 victory to remain undefeated on the season at 14-0. Ayden Dirschell led Coldwater with 14 points, while Donte Work added 10 points and 6 rebounds. Coldwater’s record dropped to 7-6 as they saw their six-game winning streak come to an end.

Earlier in the evening, the Lady Cardinals made 10 of 12 free throws in the final two minutes to hold on for a 46-34 win to improve to 14-1. Coldwater made 6 triples in the first half but struggled with turnovers against the Eagle pressure which saw the Olivet cut a big Cardinal lead to 32-31 early in the final quarter. Emma Porter and Elli Anderson led Coldwater with 9 points apiece.
