KALAMAZOO, MI (WTVB) – The Bronson wrestling team is two victories away from the program’s first MHSAA championship. The Vikings defeated Manchester 39-19 in a Division 4 Quarterfinal match at Wings Event Center.
The match started with a pin by Jacob Dixon at 190 and ended with a pin by Jacob Britten at 175. In between, Bronson picked up decisions from Matthew Blankenship (215), Jayden Post (285), Perry Lake (126), Logan Long (132), and Carson Norton (165), and major decisions from Aiden Fill (113), Layne Knisely (138), and Drew Seekman (150).

The Vikings will take a 38-1 dual meet record into their Division 4 Semifinal match against St. Louis Saturday at 9:30 a.m. The Sharks advanced by beating Benzie Central 39-26. On the other side of the bracket, defending champion Hudson defeated Iron Mountain 62-18; their semifinal opponent, the Martin/Climax-Scotts co-op team, upset previously unbeaten New Lothrup 38-29. The semifinal winners advance to the Finals Saturday afternoon at 3:45 p.m.
