BUTLER TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – The cause of a fire which destroyed a shed in the 1200 block of Clarendon Road on Wednesday night is being investigated by the Michigan State Police Fire Marshal Division.
The fire just south of the Branch-Calhoun County line was reported just after 7:30 p.m.. Litchfield Fire Chief Scott Skelly says the shed was almost on the ground by the time firefighters arrived.
He said the shed contained antiques and the damage was estimated at about $20,000. Skelly added there were several priceless family collectibles that were lost in the fire.
Litchfield firefighters received mutual aid from the Quincy and Tekonsha Fire Departments.
No injuries were reported. Crews cleared the scene just before 9:00 p.m..
