HASTINGS, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater track teams were swept by the host Hastings Saxons in an Interstate 8 Conference dual track meet on Tuesday afternoon as temperatures hovered around 40 degrees.
Hastings won the boys meet 116 1/2 to 46 1/2 and the Saxons won the girls meet 92-67.
The Hastings boys team finished first in all 17 events.
Second place finishes for Coldwater were recorded by Zach Coffing (shot put and discus), Jackson Reilly (400), Sam Pernia (800), Ayden Dirschell (high jump), Hunter Munson (pole vault) and Kazzier Lindblom (long jump).
First place finishes from the Cardinals girls team were from Lainey Yearling (1600), Grace Huff (800), Jaelah Sloan (high jump), and Elli Foley (shot pit and discus).
Second place finishes were from Eysha Chavez (1600), TaVaiyah Hughes (400), Morgan Baker (300 hurdles) and Heidi Katz (discus).
Coldwater won the 1,600 and 3,200 relay races.
