He graduated from Quincy High School in 1966, and went on to attend Ferris State University, where he met his wife of nearly 51 years, Pam (Supianoski). He received his BS in Pharmacy in 1971 and his Master’s in Hospital Pharmacy from The Ohio State University in 1974.
Gary and Pam married on June 24, 1972, at St. Charles Church in Coldwater, and welcomed a daughter, Marcella, in 1976, and a second daughter, Michonne, in 1981.
Gary completed his residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, OH, and worked in the pharmacies of Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Toledo Hospital, Foote Hospital in Jackson, Battle Creek Health System, Neighborcare in Lansing, Duane Waters Hospital at Jackson State Prison, and the Community Health Center of Branch County.
Gary was a talented artist, who liked to draw pictures for his daughters and create stained glass art for his extended family. He was a hot air balloon enthusiast, frequently attending the Battle Creek Hot Air Balloon Festival. He enjoyed watching sports on TV and in person, especially Ohio State football, Michigan State football and hockey, and Tigers baseball. He loved to watch horror, sci-fi, and fantasy movies. He enjoyed meeting up with fellow Quincy High School graduates at the American Legion. He was never without a comb or a handkerchief.
He loved animals, and doted on the many pets in his life. He was preceded in death by pet rabbits François, Breslin, and Munn, cat Ophelia, and more fish than anyone could count. He is survived by beloved cats Bianca, Brontë, Electron, Grayson, and Proton, and a prehistoric Plecostomus fish named Paco.
