WILLIAMSTON, MI (WTVB) – For the second time in a week, Coldwater’s Elli Foley set a new school record in the girls shot put on Saturday as Coldwater competed at the Mitch Lutzke Williamston Track Invitational. Foley won the event with a distance of 40 feet, 5 1/2 inches.
The Coldwater girls finished fourth in the 12 team meet thanks to strong performances in the field events. Abby Jones was third in the shot put. Heidi Katz, Foley and Ilsa Katz went took the top three places in the discus. Jaelah Sloan was fifth in the high jump and seventh in the long jump. Grace Huff was fourth in the 400 and 800. Lainey Yearling was third in the 1600.
The Coldwater boys were seventh out of 12 teams. Kendall Austin was fourth in the 110 hurdles and seventh in the 300 hurdles. Jackson Reilly was second in the shot put, Zac Coffing was fifth in the shot put and third in the discus, Lennon Swick was fourth in the discus and Hunter Munson was second in the pole vault.
