COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Biz Aid LLC – Recycling Owner Samantha McCavit Buterbaugh recently received the 2023 Recycling Award of Excellence from the Michigan Recycling Coalition at the Annual Recycling and Organics Conference.
During the presentation of her award, it was said that she has always been a student and advocate for recycling. Her focus and commitment to improving programs is evident by sharing her knowledge and expertise as a rural drop-off provider.
Buterbaugh opened her first collection center at the age of 26 in her grandmother’s pole barn.
She and her husband, Jeffrey, have been in business for over 15 years and have captured an estimated 20 million pounds of materials locally.
Buterbaugh has had several MI EGLE grants for her work providing recycling access for Branch County and the surrounding areas.
