BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Big 8 Conference has released the 2023 All Conference teams in girls softball, boys golf, baseball and track and field.
Branch County players who made the All Conference Baseball team were Brady Mescher and Hunter Tinervia from Quincy along with Phoenix Elkins, Tyler Wagley and Ryan Zweng from Union City. Mescher was named the conference’s Most Valuable Player.
Honorable mentions were earned by James Jourdan, Owen Kimmons and Carson Stevens from Bronson; Grant Holroyd and Riley Miner from Quincy along with Owen Jackson, Luke Watson and Jakob Fosmore from Union City.
Addison Harris of Bronson was named the Big 8 Conference Most Valuable Player in girls softball. She along with Bronson teammates Brealyn Lasky, Ashlynn Harris and Haylie Wilson made First Team All Conference along with Quincy’s Deziray Skirka, McKynna Connin and Payton Gross. Earning honorable mentions were Bronson’s Lydia Wells, Kailey Allman of Quincy and Union City’s Brookynne Schley and Aislynn Phelps.
Making the Big 8 All Conference team in boys golf were Sam Sawyer, Dave Milliman and Braylon Estlow from Quincy along with Landyn Crance and Carter Crummrey from Union City.
The Big 8 All Conference team in boys track included Jason Shoop of Union City in the 3200, the Chargers 800 relay team of Riley Laird, Caden Hughes, Hunter Sinke and Alex Hull, Union City’s Logan Cole in the discus and Hull in the pole vault. Also making All Conference was Bronson’s 3200 relay team of Hugo Barajas, Kamern Bracket, Aden Hathaway and Boston Bucklin.
Honorable mentions were earned by Ethan Hollister of Quincy and Laird in the 100, Hull in the 200, Sinke in the 400, Ben Gautsche of Union City and Hathaway in the 1600, Nathaniel Maurer, Hughes, Hull and Tyreke Brown of Union City in the 400 relay, Cole in the shot put, Ashtyn Morris of Quincy in the shot put and discus, Carter McClellan of Quincy, Clayton Benson of Quincy in the high jump, Corey Turner of Quincy in the pole vault along with Rick Austin of Union City and Hollister in the long jump.
The Big 8 All Conference team in girls track included Union City’s Skyler Fraley in the 3200, Nevada Gillons in the 100 hurdles, the 400 relay team of Gillons, Adalynn Rumsey, Addison Meyer and Mackenzie Hale, the 3200 relay team of Fraley, Lilly Eyre, Elizabeth Arlt and Kyla Burdick and Rumsey in the long jump. Sophia Snellenberg of a Quincy was a first team member in the shot put and discus. Bronson’s Jaiden Hayes earned first team honors in the 300 hurdles.
Honorable mentions were earned by Hayes in the 100, Rumsey in the 200, Quincy’s Elizabeth Craig in the 400, Burdick and Fraley in the 800, Fraley and Bronson’s Ava Hathaway in the 1600, Quincy’s Brookelyn Parker in the 300 hurdles, Union City’s 800 relay of Willow Austin, Hale, Abigail Goodrich and Rumsey, Quincy’s 1600 relay team of Elizabeth Craig, Raylee Fulton, Parker and Cheyenne Marske, Quincy’s Raigen Horsfall in the shot put and discus, Quincy’s Brooke McVicker in the pole vault and Quincy’s Abby Tinervia in the long jump.
