Marvin Lee Lindsey, 89, of Bronson, passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Maple Lawn Medical Center Care Facility.
A graveside service will be held Friday, June 30, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Erwin from Bethel Gilead Church officiating at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Litchfield. Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Hope Cemetery. Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home. A celebration of Marvin’s life will be held Sunday, September 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at the Parham Road Barn, 172 S. Parham Rd., Bronson.
Marvin was born September 25, 1933, in Homer, MI to Chester & Zelpha (Nickloy) Lindsey. He served honorably in the US Navy Reserves. Marvin began his lifelong career as a truck driver, owner/operator, belonging to the Teamster Central States Union. He had a great passion for horses, spending a lifetime, raising, riding and breeding them, and was also a member of the Branch County Saddle Club. Marvin looked forward to attending the Shipshewana horse sale every Friday. He enjoyed camping and truly adored his family, especially his grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his children Larry (Sally) Lindsey of Bronson, Jan (Mike) Wetherbee of Centreville, John (Julia) Lindsey of Bronson, Dave (Kim) Lindsey of Bronson, Kerri (Craig) Wastell of Danville, KY, Monica (Mick) Carpenter of Bronson, Lee (Tom) Bidwell of Bronson; his sister Kay (Tom) Lockhart of Washington, IL; 22 grandchildren, 32 great grandchildren; his former wives Carol Kirkum, Barb Kolassa, both of Bronson and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son Bradley Lindsey, an infant daughter Susan, his brother and sister-in-law Herbert & Eleanor Lindsey and step grandson Devon Carpenter.
