DeWayne Harold McNall, 86, of Coldwater, passed away Sunday, July 2, 2023.
In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place and no services will be held at this time.
He was born November 1, 1936, to Harold and Elsie (Tefft) McNall in Coldwater. In April 2023, DeWayne and his wife Ila D. (Smith) celebrated 54 years of marriage. Through the years, God blessed their marriage in many ways, but the greatest blessing was their son Alex (aka Bob).
One of the work positions DeWayne was proud of was his 10 years working at Hodunk Roller Mills. He drove truck, and hauled grain throughout Michigan and Indiana. After the closing of the mill, he went on to spend 35 years at Union Pump Co., in Battle Creek, receiving many achievement awards over the years. He retired in the year 2000, and enjoyed the next 23 years doing his favorite thing, yard work.
DeWayne had a very strong work ethic and passed that character trait on to his son.
Those left to mourn DeWayne’s passing are his wife, Ila, and son, Alex. He is also survived by his sisters, Dena Newman and Grace Houtz.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sons, Steve and Dwayne, and daughter, Rebecca Kelley. Also, his sisters Marion Bonham and Loretta McNall.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful staff at Fresenius Kidney Care in Coldwater, for their devoted care to DeWayne’s wellness during his four years of dialysis treatments.
Memorial donations are suggested to the Fresenius Kidney Care, 360 E. Chicago St., Ste. 112, Coldwater, MI 49036.
