Donna Jean Johnson, 83, of Bronson, passed away Wednesday, August 23, 2023, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility.
The funeral service will be held Monday, August 28, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Jim Erwin from Bethel Gilead Community Church officiating. Interment will follow at Lockwood Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Donna was born November 7, 1939, in Ft. Wayne, IN to Harry & Edna (Arnett) Swain. She married Wayne A. Johnson on November 24, 1955, in Ft. Wayne, IN. He preceded her in death on August 13, 1993.
Mrs. Johnson was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker. She had a great love for children and a passion for teaching, working as a para professional for the Bronson and Coldwater Community School systems. Donna spent several years working in the cafeteria at both the Coldwater Jr. and Sr. High Schools. She had also owned a cleaning business that she operated for many years.
Donna was a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday School and the Reformation Lutheran Church, both in Coldwater. She enjoyed hunting, fishing and being the one to row the boat. She was a gifted painter, very artistic and enjoyed reading, arts and crafts.
Donna devoted much of her time to the Bronson Commission on Aging, Meals on Wheels program. Above all, she adored her family, especially her grandchildren.
Donna is survived by her children Dennis (Marylin) Johnson of Bronson, Debra (Bruce) Sikorski-Bernath of Nashville, Douglas (Rhonda) Johnson of Bronson; her grandchildren Becky (Mike) Boarts, Catherine (Kenny) Kline, Adam Corey, Jessica (Shane) Harris, Hope Johnson, Gemma Johnson; her great grandchildren Chloe, Brantley, Hudson, Elisha, Lillian, Trinity and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her sister Betty Krauskopf, her brother Harry “Jr.” Swain, her son in law Dwayne Sikorski, her grandson Caleb Johnson and her infant great granddaughter Shayne Leanne Harris.
