UNION CITY, MI (WTVB) – It was worth the wait for Union City fans. The Chargers rallied from a 16-0 third quarter deficit to defeat the Centreville Bulldogs 18-16 on Saturday night at Alumni Field.
The game was originally scheduled for last Thursday but had to be postponed due to MHSAA protocols for heat and humidity.
Dylan MacDonald scored touchdowns of 28 and five yards in the third quarter to pull the Chargers to within 16-12.
Elijah Payne then hooked up with Rick Austin on a 68 yard TD pass with over four minutes left in the game. Riley Laird’s interception sealed the outcome.
MacDonald finished with 103 yards rushing on 14 carries while Payne passed for 98 yards.
Caden Hughes had 6 1/2 tackles on defense.
