Shirley A. Eichler, 89, of Bronson, passed away Monday, September 4, 2023, at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility, Coldwater.
The funeral service will be held Friday, September 8, 2023, at 12:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson with Pastor Jim Erwin from Bethel Gilead Church officiating. Interment will follow at Bronson Cemetery.
Visitation will be held, prior to the service on Friday, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Bronson.
Shirley was born August 10, 1934, in Dearborn, MI to Harry & Marjorie (Wallace) Gross. She married Dale E. Eichler on July 30, 1954, in Quincy, MI. He preceded her in death on March 25, 1986.
Mrs. Eichler was a Librarian for the Bronson Community School System. She began her career at Ryan Elementary, worked briefly at Bronson Jr. High School and then spent many years at Bronson High School until her retirement. Shirley then worked for the Branch District Library for many more years.
Shirley was a member of the Branch County Mother of Twins Club and served as a 4H Leader for the Cransonettes and Jets. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, reading and relaxing at home. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Shirley is survived by her children Karen (William) Snyder of Battle Creek, Keith (Jodi) Eichler of Coldwater, Kevin (Sue) Eichler of Coldwater, Kathy Eichler of Bronson, Kim (Katherine) Eichler of Bronson; 10 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her brother James Gross and her grandson Devin Dale Eichler.
Memorials may be directed to the Mothers of Twins of Branch County.
