COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Every Mother’s Day weekend for over 30 years, the Branch County Fairgrounds plays host to the annual Coldwater Swap Meet and Car Show.
One thing that make this event so special is that all of the proceeds are donated back to community organizations. The Branch County Sexual Assault Services at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital is one of the organizations chosen to receive a donation from this year’s Swap Meet and Car Show.
Specially trained nurses at BCSAS provide victims of abuse, (sexual assault, domestic violence, child and elder abuse) with medical/forensic
examinations, evidence collection, injury identification, photographs, and referral information.
Because this year’s donation, BCSAS was able to purchase and update large tote bags and smaller bags for personal items.
These tote bags are provided to patients to carry home the items given to them when discharged from BCSAS.
In addition, reference books and education materials were purchased to be used in the exam room.
BCSAS is located in the Emergency Department at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital. Services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. For more information, call (517) 279-5437.
