As requested by Vanessa a Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.
Arrangements are being cared for by Dutcher Funeral Home.
Vanessa was a remarkable woman who was invested in her family and her closest friends. She spent the last part of her life traveling, spending time with Dave, watching their grandchildren grow and creating a lifetime of unforgettable memories.
Throughout her life, she acquired many skillsets by working in the medical field, sales, waitressing, production worker and business entrepreneur. She spoke the most about her experience within the medical field as a candy striper advocating for the patients she served. She was compassionate in talking about patient advocacy and human rights with her children who are in the medical and mental health fields.
Vanessa was involved with the Animal Aid of Branch County for many years fostering over 100 dogs and finding their forever homes and donating to local humane societies. One of her favorite quotes was, “Adopt don’t shop!” Vanessa was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Auxiliary 1907 of Coldwater, Michigan where she assisted in many local benefits.
Vanessa enjoyed time with her family, especially her grandchildren; she made the best hot cocoa around! Every child that came into her home she treated as her own grandchild, and they ended up leaving calling her Nana.
One of Vanessa’s favorite past times was to play “Who sings this song?” with the love of her life, Dave (a.k.a Pappy). When it came to music Vanessa was the one to sing, dance and be the life of the party! There was not a music genre she didn’t like. Her love of shopping never went unnoticed as she was always finding deals on items, she thought we all needed; she always thought of everyone.
Vanessa’s love for football shook the house when the game was on, literally. Her lucky rituals helped the Lions from time to time, and no one could ever call her during the game! Vanessa enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in sports and was one of their biggest supporters. Vanessa loved being in the sun and warmer climates, she always looked forward to spending time with her friends on the lake.
Vanessa’s loving, witty, sarcastic, selfless, stubborn, and carefree presence will be deeply missed by those who knew her. Her lasting impact on those around her will be forever remembered and missed. We love you boo-coos and boo-coos Mom and we only want to see you laughing in the purple rain.
Vanessa is survived by the love of her life Dave; her mother, Doris Fowler; her children Lyndsay Williams, Nicole Wardwell, Jaime Mygrant, Michelle Warren, and James Wardwell; her grandchildren Cameron Torres, Ayden Stepp, Brayden Mygrant, Austin Stepp, Alivia Williams, Brynnlee Mygrant, Abby Williams, Leslie VanEvery, Lucas VanEvery, Lilyana and Nathaniel; her nephew Cody Hampton; her niece Carly Hampton; The Jakubowski and Hampton Families; her fur-baby Amber; and grand-dogs Nelson and Otis.
Memorials may be directed to Animal Aid of Branch County or any Humane Society.
