COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – The Branch County Republican Party has announced that former United States congresswoman and 2020 Democratic Party presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard will be a guest speaker at this year’s Reagan Day Barbecue which will take place on Saturday, October 7.
The Branch County Republicans are partnering with other counties to host the fundraiser, including Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Hillsdale, Jackson, Kalamazoo, Lenawee, Monroe, and St. Joseph counties.
Gabbard is a combat veteran with three deployments to the Middle East and Africa and currently serves as Lt. Col. in the Army Reserves.
She served four terms in the Congress as a representative of Hawaii. Gabbard announced in October of 2022 she was leaving the Democratic Party
Branch County Republican Party President Randy Hollister says, “It’s incredible to have someone like Congresswoman Tulsi Gabbard join us in Branch County. We are fortunate to have someone with her political experience, military service, and love of country speak.”
After the recent devastating Maui fires, Gabbard launched the nonprofit We Must Protect. The organization’s primary goal is to provide assistance to the victims, with 100 percent of the proceeds going towards this cause.
