Stephen S. Thorp, 61, of Coldwater, passed away Thursday, September 21, 2023, at ProMedica Coldwater Regional Hospital.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Quincy with Pastor Rachel Labram officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in Coldwater.
The family will receive friends for visitation Monday, September 25 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
He was born March 26, 1962, in Marshall to William and Janeth (Thorp) Goodman Sr.
Steve graduated from Quincy High School. He was a forklift operator at Teleflex in Hillsdale and later retired from SKD in Jonesville. In his earlier years he loved to hunt and fish. He had an entrepreneurial spirit and always had ideas for new inventions. Many will also remember him for his great sense of humor. He served his country in the US Navy and was a true patriot, always putting God and Country first.
Survivors include his three children, Brent Thorp, Crystal Thorp and Noah Spence; five grandchildren; siblings, William Goodman, Jr. of Quincy, Melisa (Claude) Bailey of Angola, Teresa Goodman-Walters of Angola and Sherry Goodman of Florida; special nephew and caregiver, RJ Watson and several other nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Goodman; and nephews, William Goodman III and Xander Walters.
Memorial contributions are suggested to a local American Legion.
