BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – The Quincy and Union City cross country teams were in action on Saturday in a couple of invitational meets.
Quincy took part in the Pittsford Invitational which was divided up into freshman/sophomore and junior/senior divisions.
The Orioles girls team won the freshman/sophomore division and finished second overall.

Kendyl Musielewicz won the freshman/sophomore race while Brookelyn Parker was third, Peyton Proctor was ninth and Elizabeth Craig was 10th. Sadie Miller who was seventh in the junior/senior race while Kathy Parchke was 12th, Libby Butchart was 21st, Raylee Fulton was 23rd, Kaylyn Brenner was 24th, Danica Swift was 26th and Abby Miller was 30th.
There were not enough Quincy boys for team scores. Eddie Miller was 16th in the freshman/sophomore race which saw the top eight runners go the wrong way and run an extra mile. Coy Wood was 20th, Michael Payne was 24th and Chayse Jensen was 31st. Nathan Richer was 13th in the junior/senior race.
The Union City boys were 10th while the girls were ninth in their division on Saturday at the Jackson Invitational. The Chargers were in the red division for schools with enrollment less than 500.
The top Charger finishers were Ben Gautsche who was 23rd in the boys race and Alli Gautsche who was 17th in the girls race.
