READING, MI (WTVB) – Union City won the boys race while Concord finished first in the girls meet on Tuesday in the first Big 8 Conference cross country jamboree of the season which was held at Kimball Camp.
The Chargers finished first in the boys meet with 27 points followed by Bronson with 36. Quincy finished sixth in the team standings.
Union City’s Ben Gautsche finished first with a time of 17:44.38 as the Chargers took five of the top ten positions. Cohen Burdick was third while Cullen Decker was fourth, Malachi Payne was ninth and Noah June was tenth.
Bronson’s Tyler Wilber was second as the Vikings had four of the top eight runners. Domenic Kiomento was sixth, Kamron Brackett seventh and Jack Ganton was eighth.
Quincy’s top finisher was Chayse Jensen as he was 22nd.
Concord won the girls meet with 45 points. Union City was second with 58 while Quincy was third with 60 points and Bronson was fourth with 67 points.
Bronson’s Ashlynn Harris won in a time of 20:31.41. Her teammate Ava Hathaway was about 15 seconds back in second place.
Union City was led by Alli Gautsche as she was fourth. Her teammate Skyler Fraley was sixth.
Quincy’s Kendyl Musielewiez finished seventh. She was followed by teammates Brookelyn Parker and Sadie Miller who were eighth and ninth respectively.
