(Reuters) – Udinese have appointed Gabriele Cioffi as their new manager to replace Andrea Sottil, the Serie A club announced on Wednesday.
The club parted ways with Sottil on Tuesday after a winless start to the season left Udinese third from bottom in the standings after nine games.
“Udinese is pleased to announce the appointment of Gabriele Cioffi as the new first-team coach. He has signed a contract that will tie him to the club until June 30, 2024 with an option for a further season,” the club said.
Cioffi returns to the club having previously managed Udinese during the 2021-22 campaign. Last season he was manager at Hellas Verona but was sacked after the opening nine league games.
