SHERIDAN TOWNSHIP, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – One suspect was arrested while two others are still being sought after almost $3,600 worth of fuel tanks were stolen from Hass Trucking on Brooks Road Tuesday afternoon.
Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded at about 3:20 p.m. after an employee witnessed three persons stealing fuel tanks from the business.
The employee further indicated he saw them leave and was able to provide a vehicle description.
The area was canvased by deputies and a vehicle matching the description was observed in the 9000 block of Condit Road.
A 44-year-old woman from Springport was inside. She was identified as one of the three suspects. While placing her into custody, the Sheriff’s Department says a syringe with suspected methamphetamine was located.
The woman was ultimately arrested and taken to the Calhoun County Jail for the larceny as well as for possession of narcotics, and unrelated warrants.
The stolen fuel tanks were recovered. As of Wednesday morning, the two remaining suspects have not been located.
