LEROY TOWNSHIP, MI (WKZO AM/FM) – A 29-year-old Union City woman suffered what police are calling life-threatening injuries, after her vehicle Wednesday morning apparently ran a stop sign and broadsided another vehicle on M-66 in Calhoun County’s Leroy Township.
The accident around 9:50 a.m. happened at the intersection of K Drive South and M-66.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office says the woman’s vehicle was traveling westbound on K Drive South when she failed to yield at the stop sign and struck a vehicle traveling northbound on M-66. She was ejected ejected from her vehicle and later transported to Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo by AirCare.
The driver of the vehicle traveling on northbound M-66 was identified as a 31-year-old female from the Village of Athens. She sustained non-life-threatening injuries. She was also transported to Bronson Hospital for further treatment.
The Calhoun County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team is conducting further investigation into the crash.
