CALHOUN COUNTY, MI (WNWN/WTVB) – Calhoun County Clerk and Register of Deeds Kimberly A. Hinkley announced on Wednesday the availability of a new search website for property, assumed name, marriage, death, and election records.
The site is hosted by GovOS Cloud Search, and it also offers Property Alert, which is a free property fraud monitoring solution for residents.
The website for the Records Search/Property Alert is www.calhoun.mi.publicsearch.us.
Hinkley says, “As we continue efforts to modernize our office with convenience and ease of access to all public records, GovOS Cloud Search delivers the service our residents deserve.”
According to a Calhoun County Government news release, certified copies of land records will now be available for purchase electronically through the GovOS Cloud Search as well. Each year, the Clerk’s Office continues to upload thousands of records into the online database in an effort provide around-the-clock access to all public documents.
In addition to the GovOS Cloud Search, Hinkley says property owners in Calhoun County will have the ability to register for Property Alert to be notified of potentially fraudulent activity on property records. There is no cost to Calhoun County property owners and no limit to the number of alerts a person can create.
Residents will be alerted by email anytime a document associated with a property is recorded in Calhoun County.
