MARSHALL, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater was outscored in the fourth quarter 16-5 as Marshall came from behind to post a 45-37 win and hand the visiting Cardinals their first loss of the season.
The Lady Cards struggled from the 3-point line, going 2/11 versus the Redhawks’ 5/8 performance. Coldwater also committed 22 turnovers and went 3/11 from the free throw line, while Marshall went 16/20.
Mya Porter had 10 points and 3 rebounds, while Kenzie Scheid had 10 points and 7 boards to pace Coldwater. Rylie VanAken added 6 points and 7 assists as the Cardinals dropped to 3-1 overall, 1-1 in the Interstate 8. They travel to Portage Northern on Tuesday.
Addie Waito led all scorers with 21 for Marshall, who improved to 2-2 overall, 2-0 in the Interstate 8. They visit Mason on Tuesday.

At Bronson, the Vikings led cross-county rival Union City by just a 14-11 tally after the first quarter, but outscored the Chargers 46-16 the rest of the way en route to a 60-27 home victory in the Big 8 opener for both teams.
Aubree Calloway led Bronson with 28 points, while Brealyn Lasky added 14. The Vikings improved to 3-0 overall and will travel to Reading on Tuesday.
Union City was led by Calli Wilkinson, who had 8 points. The Chargers dropped to 0-3 and will host Springport Tuesday night.
