COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater Main Street has awarded Coldwater Executive Suites LLC a $5,000 façade improvement rebate from its Building Improvement Program for work on their building at 50 West Pearl Street.
The Building Improvement Program has been replaced by the new Façade Restoration Initiative. It was designed to stimulate façade improvements of downtown buildings. It also supports maintenance and renovations.
The exterior renovations at 50 West Pearl include an updated paint scheme, new exterior doors, exterior lighting fixtures, roof repairs, and a new ramp allowing for ADA accessibility at the south entrance.
The project applied for the rebate tied to $46,000 of facade improvements in February, and finished the improvements last month.
The building is also undergoing interior renovations that will allow for three new office tenant spaces that will be available by May.
While the Building Improvement Program is no longer available, rebate projects that were reviewed and received funding earmarks in the previous fiscal year continue to be awarded.
Furthermore, the low interest loan pool offered in partnership with Southern Michigan Bank & Trust and Century Bank and Trust will continue to be available through the Façade Restoration Initiative grant program.
The new Façade Restoration Initiative is accepting applications through February 9, 2024.
Since the rebate program was reinstated in 2019, over $90,000 has been disbursed to downtown projects, resulting in over $2.7 million of private investment.
