PORTAGE, MI (WTVB) – Coldwater’s girls basketball bounced back from their first loss of the season with a 59-16 thrashing of Portage Northern at the Igloo. The Lady Cards got out to a 12-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back, leading 29-5 at halftime and 46-10 after three.
Elli Foley led all scorers with 18 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assists, and 4 steals, while Elli Anderson had 13 points and Kenzie Scheid added 10 points and 3 boards. Coldwater will take a 4-1 record into Thursday’s home game against Parma Western.
The Cardinal JV team also won, beating the Huskies 40-13. Marie Powers had a double-double with 11 points and 18 rebounds. Madison Stumpf added 7 points and 5 steals, while Ayla McCowan and Miyah Moore had 6 points apiece.
Coldwater lost the freshman game 28-10. TK Boyd had a team-high 8 points.
