CENTREVILLE, MI (WTVB) – St. Joseph County Undersheriff Jason Bingaman says his county has seen an increase in mail being removed from mail boxes.
He reports deputies were called to the 25000 block of Mintdale Road on Christmas Eve for a report of mail scattered throughout the area.
Deputies later discovered the mail was removed from mail boxes within Sherman and Florence Townships.
The St. Joseph County Sheriff’s Department is asking if you are planning to leave the area for an extended amount of time to contact the post office to hold your mail until you are able to return to the residence.
According to the Sheriff’s Department, there are no suspects at this time and it appears that they are looking in mail boxes for any type of currency that could easily be obtained. Anyone who has information regarding this matter is asked to contact the St Joseph County Sheriff’s Department at (269) 467-9045.
