Darren Louis Held, Sr., 54, of Union City passed away of natural causes at his home Thursday, December 28, 2023.
In keeping with Darren’s wishes, he has been cremated and a memorial service will be held at Addison Congregational Church, 202 S. Talbot St., Addison, MI, at a later date.
The family is being served by Lighthouse Funeral & Cremation in Union City.
Darren was born on January 14, 1969, in Tecumseh, Michigan to Donald Louis and Cheryl Ruth (Lee) Held, Jr.
He received his GED from Columbia Central Options High School in Clarklake, Michigan. Darren then proudly served in the U.S. Army. He later was a truck driver, showing up to take his kids when they were young for a ride whenever he had the chance.
He enjoyed tinkering with tractors, working on old cars, collecting zippo lighters and cool knives, listening to his favorite band Metallica and always having his cat companions around. He was also a University of Michigan and Detroit Tigers fan.
In addition to his parents, surviving are his children, Bobby Miller of Inman, SC, Derren Held, Jr. of Adrian, MI, and Jessica (Nathan) Sutherland of Morenci, MI; his grandchildren, Jaxson, Keagan, Darcie, and Jeremy; and his sisters Christina Held and Cassandra Held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the family to help with final expenses.
