Amanda L. Lawrence, 90, of Coldwater, formerly of Litchfield, passed away Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at Maple Lawn Medical Care Facility in Coldwater.
There will be no services or calling hours at this time. Interment will take place in Mt. Hope Cemetery at a later date.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Eagle Funeral Home-George White Chapel in Litchfield.
She was born on April 25, 1933 in Litchfield to Jay and Bernadine (King) Chamberlain. Amanda married Richard C. Lawrence on July 25, 1953 and he preceded her in death in 1988.
Amanda graduated from Homer High School in 1952. She was a long-time resident of Litchfield and was a bank teller at CNB in Litchfield for many years. She also worked part-time at the Dow Center in Hillsdale.
She enjoyed quilting just about anything for family and friends. She also enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and playing cards. She was known for her carrot cakes!
Amanda is survived by two daughters, Claudia (James) Adkins of Coldwater, Deborah Lawrence of Coldwater; one son, Jeffery (Shelly) Lawrence of Quincy; one sister, Helen (Howard) Jones of Jackson; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, Richard, Amanda was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Sandra Marie; two sisters, Laura Windle, Pauline Roan and three brothers, Roland Chamberlain, Clair Chamberlain and Faye Chamberlain.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes association or the American Cancer Society.
