He leaves behind a family in immeasurable mourning; his parents Joudat and Patrice; his three beloved brothers Mikael (Michelle), Daniel, and Alex (Brooke); loving grandmother Paula LaMotte; his cherished aunts and uncles Johnny (Jennifer), Marla (Tom), Akram (Christina); his cousins Lake, Christopher, Colin, Jennifer, Amanda, Mikayla, Brahim, Dima, Feras, Philipe, and many other Syrian cousins and his one and only nephew, baby Evryn.
He was preceded in death by his great grandmother Anna Somers, his grandfather John LaMotte and his paternal grandparents Mikael and Mouneria Daoud.
We are profoundly lucky to have had Johnny Bear for the 35 years he shared with us. He spent those years with enough passion for family, friends and music to fill a lifetime.
John was named after his late grandfather John LaMotte from whom he inherited his deep love for family, his blue eyes, and his height. He was born October 23, 1988, in Chicago, IL and graduated from Coldwater High School in 2007.
John was a talented multi-instrument artist. His childhood was filled with the booming sounds of drums and electric guitar and his later life with banjo, ukulele, and bongos. John touched many lives through his music; he leaves behind treasured band mates, songs, and stories that fill our hearts.
John held a boundless love for animals, especially his beloved Chesapeake Bay retriever Nico. He spent his Sundays watching English Premier League, especially his favorite team Chelsea.
Most of all, Johnny will be remembered for his quiet, introspective manner, his compassion, and his fierce loyalty to his family and friends. His memory will be at the forefront of every song that hangs in the air and every smile that crosses our lips.
Memorials may be directed to the Branch Area Food Pantry.
