BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – School administrators in Branch County have to be wondering what else can happen after dense fog on Wednesday morning led to some school delays.
Classes were delayed for two hours in the Coldwater and Quincy Community School districts as well as in the Branch Intermediate School District.
Visibility at the Branch County Memorial Airport was down to a quarter mile during the early morning hours. Conditions improved by the middle of the morning.
Wednesday’s fog was just another challenge for school administrators. Over the last couple of weeks they have had to deal with snow, subzero temperatures and ice.
Branch County students have lost five days of instruction since January 9 because of the bad weather.
There could be more of the same on Thursday morning. A Dense Fog Advisory was scheduled to expires at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday morning but the National Weather Service has extended it 24 hours to 11:00 a.m. on Thursday.
Branch County along with neighboring counties are included in the advisory.
