QUINCY, MI (WTVB) – There is an opening on the Quincy School Board after a long time member stepped down this week.
Alan McClellan says he turned in his resignation on Tuesday. The opening has not been posted yet on the Quincy School District’s web site.
McClellan’s term on the board was set to expire at the end of the year. He served on the board for nearly 15 years and was the board president from 2017 until last month.
McClellan was elected to the Branch County Board of Commissioners in November of 2022 after winning the Republican Primary in August of that year.
Adding to his busy schedule, McClellan was chosen as the President of the Branch County Fair Board for 2024 last October.
The Quincy School Board opening is the second one that has to be filled in recent weeks.
Greg Richer resigned on December 22. Seven candidates applied for the position before the board chose Chelsea Lofton to serve out the rest of Richer’s term.
