Dorothy Elizabeth Midtgard, 96, of Coldwater passed away Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at her home.
In accordance to her wishes, cremation has taken place and a burial of ashes will be held at Berg Cemetery in Montgomery, MI at a later date.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
Dorothy was born June 11,1927 to Mason and Ethel (Collier) Wolcott in North Adams, MI. She married Milton C. Midtgard Sr. in 1946. He preceded her in death on December 9, 2001.
She had a fulfilling career as a nurse’s aide with Coldwater Hospital where she retired after many years of faithful service.
Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed ceramics and puzzle books. She was a talented gardener with beautiful flower gardens but her greatest passion of all was her family.
She will be dearly missed as a loving mother, cherished grandmother, and dear friend to many.
Dorothy leaves behind her children Milton (Rita) Midtgard of Coldwater, Jim (Julie) Midtgard of Fremont, IN, Craig Midtgard of MI, Andy Midtgard of Charlotte, MI; her 12 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; 6 great-great grandchildren, and her many loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband Milton, Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Arthur and Matthew Midtgard, and her brothers Daryl and Leroy Wolcott.
I’m sorry for your loss of your mom. She was a great mother and a great aunt. I remember all the good times we had playing at your mom’s and dad’s house with the horses and donkeys and fishing in the pound.
