COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Wednesday was a critical day for schools across Michigan as the second student count day of the school year was conducted.
As part of the State School Aid Act, the Count Days in October and February determines per pupil funding from the state.
Coldwater Community Schools Superintendent Paul Flynn does not know what the student enrollment will be over the next few years.
Student enrollment in the Coldwater Community School District has been steady in recent years as it has fluctuated between about 2,750 and 2,800 students.
The highest enrollment in the district over the last decade was 2,863 students during the 2019-2020 school year.
