SHERWOOD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – A 55-year-old Sherwood man was killed in a single vehicle crash which took place just after midnight Friday morning on Oliverda Road south of Blossom Road in Sherwood Township.
The Michigan State Police from the Marshall post report the man was driving a Chevrolet Cruze northbound when it went into the southbound lane.
The vehicle eventually went off the road and struck a tree head on.
The driver was declared deceased on scene. His name was not released by the State Police.
Troopers say he was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A front seat passenger who was the son of the deceased driver was not injured. State Police say he was wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.
Troopers were assisted at the scene by Sherwood Township Fire and LifeCare EMS.
The crash remains open pending further investigation.
