Joseph Kelly “Joe” Allen, 54, of Ypsilanti passed away Monday, February 12, 2024 at The Laurels of Coldwater.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater.
He was born May 2, 1969 to Oscar and Ruth (Snyder) Allen in Ypsilanti, MI. Joe’s working career was primarily as a Drywall Finisher.
For one year he drove an over the road truck for US Express. Most recently he worked for the University of Michigan until his health no longer permitted him to do so.
Growing up, Joe played little league baseball in Ypsilanti. He was a huge New York Yankees fan, and his all-time favorite player was Nolan Ryan.
Joe enjoyed being outdoors; he had a love for both golfing and fishing. He also enjoyed NASCAR, and was a huge Dale Earnhardt fan.
Joe was very sociable. He will be most remembered for his sense of humor, and ability to make people laugh.
Joe leaves behind his children Becky Hasley of Lexington, KY, Breea Tschirhart of Ypsilanti, MI, Jace Becker of Centerville, TN; his grandchildren Caydei Hasley, Maverick Smith, and Michael Sparks Jr; and his brother Edward Allen of Claremore, OK.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his grandparents.
