Job E. Maxson, 83, of Coldwater passed away Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at his home.
A memorial service will be held Friday, February 23, 2024, at 4:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home in Coldwater with Pastor Dale Rabineau from Christ Church of Butler officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the service, beginning at 2:00 p.m. at Dutcher Funeral Home.
Job was born November 21, 1940, in Coldwater, MI to Orville & Evelyn (Hutchins) Maxson. He married Charlotte D. Carnes on April 6, 1995, in Coldwater.
Mr. Maxson was a lifelong farmer, owning and operating his family farm. He had also worked at Voltek and sold real estate.
Job was very active in local government serving as a Branch County Commissioner and Ovid Township Supervisor for many years.
Job had a great love of horses. He spent over 30 years with the Branch County Sheriff Posse and was very active in 4H. He also enjoyed singing with the barbershop quartet. Job enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Job is survived by his wife Charlotte; his daughters Kimberly Sims of Coldwater, Tonya Morrow of Coldwater, Heather (Howard) Pierce of Lawton, OK; his sister Julia (Ed) Hissong of Ft. Wayne, IN; his grandchildren Dustin (Maggie) Sims, Brian (Jessica) Combs, Chasity Atchley, Latosha (Daniel) Guerra, Matthew Stauffer, Joshua Stauffer, Marisa (Josh) Rankins, Mariah (Fred) Lopez, Caleb Eilerman; 17 grandchildren and his lifelong friend John Watson.
He was preceded in death by his brother and sister-in-law Mervin and Kathleen Maxson.
