GRAND LEDGE, MI (WTVB) – The Coldwater varsity boys swim and dive team traveled to Grand Ledge Tuesday night for a last chance invite.
The Cardinals swam well with a couple of small improvements and very close swims but all that changed when Drake Thornton qualified for the MHSAA state tournament in the 100 Breaststroke.
Due to an unlucky situation, Thornton did not get a chance to swim on the second day at the SMAC conference meet, so he was able to redeem himself when he made the cut by 12-hundreths of a second.
On Thursday, Coldwater’s Jakob Hamacher, competes at the M.H.S.A.A. dive regionals to earn his spot at state.
