COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Planning continues for projects at a couple of Coldwater parks.
The Coldwater City Council conducted a workshop on February 19 to go over plans for the Rotary Park renovation.
Coldwater City Manager Keith Baker says the planning has been going on for a couple of years and work is expected to start later this year.
Baker said they found out this week from MDOT they will implement some interim measures to try and alleviate some sight distance issues on U.S. 12 at Willow Lane and the entrance to the north side of Oak Grove Cemetery.
In addition, more work is planned for Waterworks Park this summer after bids were opened last week.
Two bids were received for the project. The Coldwater City Council will be asked to approve Parrish Excavating’s low bid of $488,297 during their March 11 meeting.
The initial engineering was estimated at $600,000.
CBPU Director Paul Jakubczak says in his report for Wednesday’s Board of Directors meeting they will be doing additional work at the park by installing new LED lighting and installing a WIFI network.
The work is scheduled to start in August after the Branch County Fair.
