COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – At last report, Branch County Animal Control is still looking for the person who left a dog in their outdoor temporary kennels last Saturday, February 24.
Since the Branch County Sheriff’s Department business office and Animal Control were closed at the time, they did not know the male lab was there until Monday morning as he is a very calm dog that does not bark.

Animal Control said in a post on their Facebook page the dog was left with a harness and a six foot leash.
Security camera photos of the vehicle that was used to drop off the dog have been posted on Animal Control’s social media platform. The time stamp from the security camera indicates it happened at 11:26 a.m..
The person who dropped off the dog was being asked to call Animal Control at (517) 639-3210 so it can be determined whether or not the animal was taken from someone or found.
If someone recognizes the vehicle in the photo, ask whoever is driving to contact Animal Control.

It’s so sad that people who can’t even take care of themselves have pets and then abandon them like this person did. Hope someone recognizes that vehicle. They should be fined at the very least.
I hope the lab is ok! He deserves a really good home.
