COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Branch County Drain Commissioner Mike Hard told Branch County Commissioners during their work session last Thursday they have received one bid for the dredging of the mouth of the Coldwater River, with a second bid expected to come in sometime this week.
He said it was found out two years ago maintaining that section of the river fell under his department’s responsibility and not the State of Michigan.
Hard says they are planning to go three-and-a-half feet deep and about 20 feet wide which should take the river back to its original state which is as far as they can go.
The dredging is scheduled to take place before the start of the boating season.
