COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Two of the three persons arrested in connection with a March 1 stabbing in the 200 block of Paradise Island Drive in Coldwater Township were arraigned on Monday in Branch County District Court.
24-year-old Oshaegh Quince Ross McAtee and 19-year-old Caoimhe Daen-Ross McAtee are both facing charges of Accessory After the Fact to a Felony and Obstruction of Justice.
Bond for both women was set at $50,000. Both are scheduled to appear for probable cause hearings on April 11 with preliminary exams set for April 16.
The Michigan State Police says they were dispatched to a stabbing incident involving two males just over a month ago.
Court documents state the 28-year-old stabbing victim from Ohio had originally gone to the home to do some work for the owner. He was taken to the hospital for treatment of serious internal injuries that required surgery.
The stabbing victim had previously dated Oshaegh McAtee. State Police said their investigation discovered that an argument broke out between the victim and a 19-year-old male from Battle Creek who was McAtee’s new boyfriend.
They say the victim was stabbed multiple times and tried to defend himself with a pistol. Court documents say he managed to fire a shot but he did not hit anyone.
State Police say the two female suspects assisted the 19-year-old male suspect in fleeing the scene and the area for a time.
Arrest warrants were later secured for the 19-year-old and the two females. The females turned themselves in Monday at the Branch County Jail.
The 19 year old male from Battle Creek has been charged with attempted murder. He was arrested Monday in Battle Creek without incident by the Michigan State Police 5th District Fugitive team and lodged in the Branch County jail.
His name is being withheld pending an arraignment.
