GILEAD TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) – Bronson Fire Chief Scott Wilber told the Branch County 9-1-1 Board on Wednesday that the Bronson Fire Department’s new satellite station at the intersection of Gilead Lake and Southern Roads is up and running.

Audio PlayerGround was broken for the new building last August after the $140,000 satellite fire station was approved in June of 2023 during the Bronson Area Fire Association’s annual budget meeting.
Wilber thanked the Bronson Community for stepping up to help. Gilead, Noble, Bethel, and Bronson Townships helped fund the cost of construction.
Rusty Smith donated his time as the project manager. Dan Hershberger Construction and his crew donated their labor along with Chuck Shimp Excavating. Kirk Skinner donated his labor for the plumbing and HVAC.
Southern Michigan Bank & Trust provided their maintenance crew of Kerry Skinner, Chad Butters, and Louis Horn.
