BRANCH COUNTY, MI (WTVB) – There will be plenty of decisions Branch County voters will have to make in the August Primary.
Besides trying to decide who will appear on the November General Election ballot for various state offices, there are several contested township races.
In Algansee Township, Republicans Onalee Connin and Sharon Atkinson are running for Treasurer. The winner in August will face Democrat Kelli Kaufman in the November General Election.
In Bethel Township, Republicans James Webb, Tracie Disbro and Tonia Vorce are running for Treasurer while Republicans Jerry Haylett and Norbert Drust along with Democrat Robin Kehoe are running for the two Trustee seats.
In Ovid Township, Republicans Max Benjamin and Ben Losinski are running for Supervisor.
In Sherwood Township, Republicans Donisha Leonard, William Courliss and Robert Brott are running for Trustee.
In Union Township, Republicans Bryan Washburn, Bobbi Snyder and Justin Johnson are running for Trustee.
There are no listed candidates for Algansee Township Supervisor as well as for Noble Township Clerk.
Voters across Branch County will be asked to renew a millage for the Commission on Aging for the next five years.
Batavia Township voters will be asked to renew a millage for six years for fire protection and equipment.
Union Township voters will be asked to renew a millage for four years for maintenance and operations of their cemetery and for fire protection.
