COLDWATER, MI (WTVB) – Lily Bockheim scored both Coldwater goals in the second half as the Cardinals tied the visiting Three Rivers Wildcats 2-2 on Senior Night.
Three Rivers opened up the scoring with 3:25 left in the first half on a Natalie McGahan penalty kick. Bockheim’s first goal, assisted by Katie O’Dell, came with 21:38 left in the second half to tie the game at 1-1. The Wildcats responded five minutes later, as Emerie Dokey found the back of the net. The final goal came with exactly one minute left as Bockheim finished on a breakaway opportunity, with Maya Walinski assisting.
Izzy Pool made six saves in goal. The Cardinals will take a 6-7-3 goal into their non-conference game Wednesday afternoon at Jackson Lumen Christi.
Nine seniors were recognized during pregame ceremonies. In addition to Bockheim, O’Dell, Walinski, and Pool, honorees included captain Cara Miller, Cat Cardenas, Hannah Stevens, Cece Velazquez, and JV player Briezy Scott.
Elsewhere, Quincy improved to 10-4-1 and clinched the Independent Soccer League championship with an 8-0 home win against Springport. The Orioles will travel to Comstock on Wednesday.
And Bronson dropped to 0-13-1 as Calhoun Christian picked up an 8-0 win. The Vikings will close out the regular season on Wednesday against visiting Hillsdale.
