CONCORD, MI (WTVB) – The Union City Chargers captured the school’s first Big 8 Conference boys golf championship on Monday as they won the conference meet at Wiffle Tree Golf Club in Jackson.
The Chargers and Springport wound up tied at 356 after 18 holes but Union City won the meet on a tiebreaker.
Quincy finished third at 365 while Bronson was fourth with a score of 430.
Braydon Hawes of Springport was the medalist with a 77. Quincy’s Keegan Neely and Braylon Estlow tied for third as they both shot 87’s on the day.
Union City’s Landyn Crance was fifth with a 88. Carter Krummrey and Jeremy Zehr from Union City tied for sixth with rounds of 89. Their teammate Logan Mears was ninth with a 90.
Quincy’s Grant Carter and Bronson’s Carson Norton tied for tenth with rounds of 95.
Quincy’s Brydan Wible was 12th with a 96 while Clayton Shortridge of Bronson was 14th with a 102.
